Announcement from Acoustic Neuroma Association - Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA)
We are aware that many of you live with Single Sided Deafness. There are several products on the market that address this issue. One of them is the BAHA, a product of Cochlear Americas which recently acquired Entific Medical Systems. They have just announced that the BAHA system is now covered by Medicare under a new policy. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have revised its definition of "hearing aids" allowing for coverage of implantable devices such as the BAHA.

Local Meeting Option
One of the commitments of the Acoustic Neuroma Association of New Jersey is to bring meetings to acoustic neuroma patients, friends and family who find it difficult to attend the General Meeting, usually in North Jersey. At a local meeting there is an opportunity to share experiences, ask questions and get to know other patients.
If you are not able to attend a general meeting for any reason, would you be interested in hosting a satellite meeting in your area? It can be in your home or another location, and can be a one time or ongoing event. ANA/NJ will provide names and addresses of people in your local area, and will help with the mailing and other expenses.
